Write Me Up

Just writing. Maybe someone will read it.

Reboot November 12, 2012

Well, my brother (see the link that says brother-face on the side of my blog) has finished his first draft. I am still stuck in the beginnings of my first, and have contracted a bit of writer’s block. I’m finally getting used to my work schedule, so I have no excuse to not be writing every single day. But I keep running into walls with one of my storylines. It’s infuriating. So I decided to do a little reboot, and I’m taking a new approach to my draft. Instead of writing linearly, I’m just writing scenes. Whatever scene pops into my head, with whatever character, I’m writing it. It doesn’t have to make sense yet, and I have no idea if it will turn out, but something wasn’t working with my old method, so I have to try a new one.

On a positive note (and in the spirit of Thanksgiving), I am very thankful for my brother who keeps telling me not to “poop out”, my boyfriend who scolds me mildly when I get distracted and write him poetry instead of working on my story, and my roommate who always asks me how my writing is coming along. I definitely need the constant pestering so that I will keep writing.

That is all.
